780nm 8W Fiber Coupled Diode Laser in optical imaging and fluorescence excitation:

In optical imaging, 780nm lasers are used as near-infrared light sources. They penetrate tissue deeper than visible light and give clearer images. With fiber output, the light can be easily coupled into microscopes or probes for in-vivo imaging and tissue studies.

In fluorescence excitation, many NIR dyes (such as Cy7, IR-780) absorb well around 780nm. Exciting them with this laser provides strong, stable signals for molecular labeling, cell tracking, and live animal imaging.
