The application of 2100nm wavelength involves holmium laser technology. Holmium laser is a pulsed solid laser device made of laser crystal with yttrium aluminum garnet as the activation medium, doped with sensitizing ion chromium, energy transfer ion thulium, and activation ion holmium. It is used for non-invasive or minimally invasive surgery, such as the treatment of urinary stones. The wavelength of holmium laser is about 2.1μm. It is the latest one among many surgical lasers. The energy it generates can vaporize the water between the end of the optical fiber and the stone to form tiny cavitation bubbles, and transmit energy to the stone to crush the stone into powder
