Design:

The strong demand for copper welding applications due to the shift from internal combustion engines to electric power drives has even prompted laser manufacturers to look for sophisticated solutions to obtain laser sources in the wavelength range where copper absorption is high. With the advent of high-power diode laser bars in the blue wavelength range, proven optical concepts can be used to build direct blue high-power diode laser sources for material processing. Based on the earlier 70W fiber-coupled laser source, we present a new blue fiber-coupled laser source with an output power of more than 100W.

Brandnew offers laser diodes with center wavelengths in the range of 375 - 2000 nm and output powers from 0.2 mW to 2 W, as well as quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) and interband cascade lasers (ICLs) with center wavelengths between 3.00 and 11.00 µm. Our semiconductor laser diodes are available in a variety of packages, including standard Ø5.6 mm and Ø9 mm TO-can, butterfly, laser pigtail, and SMD packages, and QCLs are available in 9 mm diameter, C-mount, D-mount, and high-heat-load (HHL) packages.

Our drivers include a highly stable current source for laser diodes (accuracy up to 0.01A) and an integrated temperature controller (TEC), which precisely maintains the temperature of Peltier elements (TEM) within 0.01°C. Additionally, the drivers are equipped with large heat sinks to ensure stable heat dissipation.
