The normal diode lasers use what is called “Stacked diode lamps”, this means that the plates that power the laser (lamp) are precisely “stacked” this technology is been used for years and is pretty effective, lifespan on the good lamps could be 30 Million pulses, but this lamps overheat very easily and usually are heavy to the arm of the operator since they are installed inside the hand piece of the machine, making them heavy, hot, and prone to damage by accidental falls. So a new technology has emerged, that is fiber coupled diode laser machine.
Fiber coupled diode laser generate the lights by multiple diode laser are coupled into a single-core multi-mode fiber by micro lens array, in order to deliver light to the target place. But the normal diode laser mostly are Vertical Laser Stack with a number of diode bars, which are arranged in a form of stack. The laser chip are welded on heat sinks to deliver high output energy.
