VCSEL is an important semiconductor laser diode equipped with a monolithic laser resonator to emit light in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the wafer. Such lasers are compact in size and have high optoelectronic performance, and are occupying an important position in the market. As a small laser, VCSEL can be used as a light source for high-speed, short-wavelength communications and optical data networks. In automotive smart sensor applications or data communications, the realization of dense and high-speed data transmission is a key requirement that needs to be met, and this can be achieved by compact and high-speed VCSEL.
