Diode Laser Classification

Laser diode is essentially a semiconductor diode. According to whether p-n junction materials are identical, laser diode can be divided into homogeneous junction, single heterojunction (SH), double heterojunction (DH) and quantum well (QW) laser diode. Quantum well laser diode with low threshold current and high output power is the mainstream product in the market. As a component material, AlGaAs, InGaAlP, InGaN, ZnO and other compound semiconductors are used. As the Si transition probability (the probability of current conversion to light) used by LSI, Tr, Di and so on is poor, they are not suitable for laser diode.
